Isola dello Scialandro

A legendary deserted island just off the coast of Maratea, near to the town of Sapri. See Lovers Walk for full legend. Requires the hire of a  beach boat to get to which is included in the "Additional Event Hosting Fee".

We have not yet had a wedding here; however, the slideshow above will give a good feeling for the dramatic setting and how to get there (see information on nearby Sapri Weddings Beach which is directly opposite the island).

NOTE:  This is best for 2 people who are looking for a different wedding and want an adventure.   From the photos, it looks difficult to have a wedding there; however and interestingly, the island once hosted a night club in the 60s - where the glitterati of the area would get on their yachts and sail to the island for a night of "disco".  

• To get to the top of the rock,  from the boat, you will have to climb a bunch of  steps to reach the top.

The Deserted Mermaid Island (Lo Scialandro) sits in the Golfo di Policastro just outside the busy market town of Sapri, on the astonishingly beautiful Coast of Maratea. It is just off the coast directly opposite Lover's Walk, and The Sapri Wedding Beach, where we also offer weddings. A boat is required to get to the Island

Boats can pick you up/drop you off at the Sapri Promenade beach across from Hotel Pisacane
