All our venues you see on this site will permit outdoor weddings, except for churches and most town-halls.
Notes on Outdoor Legal Civil Italian Weddings:
- FULLY LEGAL OUTDOOR WEDDINGS IN ITALY - See bottom of page for outdoor venues where the weddings are fully legal - these venues have been deemed to be legally part of the town-hall therefore they adhere to the Italian marriage law that requires legal marriages to take place in a town-hall.
- MAYORS PERFORMING WEDDING CEREMONIES OUTDOORS - In the Coast of Maratea and the Cilento (Italy's Best Kept Secret), most mayors, for all non-town-hall venues, have agreed to split their process into two steps - the first step is to have a brief informal ceremony at the town-hall with just the bride & groom with the mayor or registrar (informal dress, no exchange of rings nor kisses). This first step ensures adherence to the Italian wedding town-hall law. This process is followed by a full Italian civil wedding ceremony at the couple's wedding venue of choice with the mayor or registrar and the wedding guests. This approach permits the couple to focus on the out door wedding.
- OURDOOR WEDDINGS IN REST OF ITALY - with a few exceptions, mayors will NOT perfrom ceremonies outside of their town-hall. Most couples will have a small legal ceremony at the towen-hall with close family & friends, followed by a symbilic cermeony (non-legal) with a lay or religious celebrant.
