Pietraperzia Town Hall
The town hall today was a former convent of the Dominicans (1520), the building, whose architecture is of Gothic composition, after expropriation by the government, was renovated and rented to the "Circolo dei Galantuomini", an association of the local bourgeoisie born after the 1870's with the aim of guaranteeing bourgeois privileges from the claims of peasants and artisans.
Having become a symbol of the ruling bourgeoisie, during the revolt of the Sicilian fasces (1890), the building was set on fire and all the furnishings were lost. Renovated again, today the former Dominican convent is used as the registry office of the town hall.
