The city of Vibo Valentia stands on a large schistose hilly terrace, the town hall stands at 476 m a.s.l. but the common reaches 568 m in the upper part and is above sea level in the Marina area. The three major concentrations of industrial activities in the municipality are at the Airport location, at Porto Salvo (adjacent to Vibo Marina, thanks to the exploitation of the opportunities provided by the presence of the multifunctional port and the railway yard), and finally on the border with Maierato, while the shopping area is located within the city on the hill, as well as the most populated areas.
